Here is something also annoying, some occasions, silly people draw sexual images in the corner map of the screen when your in a mission with some people, so its not just chatting that the sexual talks are polluting.

It is getting worse...
saw a person state the following today

"Verkauft wer reife Frauen unter 12 Jahren für heißen Sex?" which translates into:
"Anyone selling mature women younger than 12 years for hot sex?"

Now this is something i won't and will never tolerate. I don't care much for the typical "i'm so uberhot and sexy, wanna cyber?" stuff. It is just ridiculous but spamming pedophile bullshit is something i won't be overlooking. Sending in a report by the second and will quit the game alltogether if that person doesn't get removed from the game permanently (added him onto the friendslist to see if he is online).

Sex within certain criteria, such as on a game that is played by adults and children, is offensive. For all those who want to use GW to cyber, or to get kicks, I ask why? There are loads of sex sites online catering for just about every taste and fetish (AFAIK), and if you want to see a female character take off her clothes, why not make your own, go out into your own instanced area and strip and unstrip to your hearts content?

The reason why it's particularly offensive is that it is being done to OTHER characters. The options of visiting a website or having your own character take her clothes off doesn't do it for your typical perv. They want to make someone else do it for them. This is where lines are crossed, and offences are made.

It ain't about whether sex is dirty or not, you moron.

I don't think the fact that you eliminate your bodily wastes on a daily basis is BAD, but I would rather you didn't do it all over my computer.

The in-game society in GW is not a whole lot different than the in-game society for many other games, especially RPGs, or society at large. In the end, Anet is in the business to develop this game, and that is the best use of their resources. Of course, they will respond to reports, deal with cheaters, spammers and the like. But if anyone thinks that they will be able to rid the game of every person who does something that some other person finds offensive, they are highly mistaken. It's just like RealLife(tm) in that regard.

That being said, the next guy that comes up behind my female W/N and does the 'hump dance' is gonna get smacked...

For some of us, the issue with GTA was never the sex. I am with you on the weirdness in America where killing is cool but sex isn't. Blame our weirdo puritan ancestors, I guess. But I HATE how the company that made GTA:SA made that content and then left it in there and then lied and tried to pretend they didn't. How lame is that? Geeze, own up to what you did and take a stand.

It's quite immature, I agree......Last night, in PvP, I played against a character named "Cucking Funt." You get used to it, but it usually says quite a bit about the players themselves.

It also says volumes about their parenting too. We can't change that, but these sorry excuses for families are where it comes from. If their attitude towards women and the need to express themselves through profanity and gratoutous sexual innuendo isn't learned, then tell me what gene it comes from.

Having a char with that name is just for shock value. It's so much better to be clever and funny. Going for the juvenile humor is one thing, we all have our inner child that likes people to pull it's finger, but using a word women hate isn't anything except to make people go

Owning up to what we have done to OURSELVES, and take a stand? But then we, as Americans, would have to look in mirrors, rather than blame our wierdo puritan ancestors now wouldn't we? Dead men tell few tales. We that live write the current episodic aggressions.

The truest sad item here is that everyone involved in this thread, myself included, needs to be reminded what we are all up in arms about: A GAME.

It is a GAME.

Someone typing /dance against me if I am afk and them being naked does not truly impact my life in the slightest, and they waste time, neurons, and energy on guys like me, who couldn't care less if cybersex was an in-game quest item! For those that do care, you need a serious lesson in 'apathy'.

I have read all of the 'suggestions' and none of them make any sense to me. Why make this so god damn complicated? Just ignore the morons. Go OUTSIDE town and do stuff. Stay where they cannot reach.

And for the love of cheese sandwhiches, who HONESTLY has a legitimate use for local chat anyway. I fear more of you succumb to 'morbid curiosity' and then don't like what you hear

I agree, but I leave local chat on all the time. I help some newbies, flame noobs who insult the "weaker" classes, and other random stuff. The cybersex hardly bothers me, it's the same as walking into any area with people, real life or not. You really bothered by it? Don't hang out with the general population then.

One of my pet peeves is females taking their armor off. Im a guy, but i never do that with my female characters. And regarding cursing, i keep it out of public, but i never use any racist comments. If anyone ever says they are offended that is in the channel, it stops there.

I cant agree with you guys more on this.

There is an easy solution. Don't you see it? Just give them a place to trash talk. Like a "ignorant-12-year-old" channel or something. *BOOM*

If only that would work. The only ones who'd go there would be the disgusting twisted pedophiles hoping to get "lucky".

Just stay outside towns and turn off the public chat...though I find that annoying.

The other sad thing I forgot to mention was the double standard inherent in this debate on both sides.

Deny it all day, you know it exists.

I agree that cybering/sex talk/excessive swearing should be kept off of the public channel. If it's ok to do whenever you feel like it, including in public, I'd like to see these people try it at work or at school or in a crowded store; it's just not acceptable except when you do these things in a non-public place and/or in the sole company of people you know.

That said, I don't understand why they let us remove our armor and run around in underwear. If armor didn't come off, perverts wouldn't hope to see what's underneath it. And why, after so many complaints and examples of its misuse, they have not modified the dance and drum emotes to make it not look like people are humping each other? The emotes are a cool idea but they need to be tweaked a little. I keep the local channel off all the time, and it's annoying to still have strangers run up and try to bang me while I'm shopping at the trader or whatever. It's hard to get away from everything perpetrated by weirdos.

Thank god there's the guild hall to loiter in...

The "usual suspects" comments to turn off the open channel doesn't wash. I shouldn't have to do that under any circumstances. And the interesting ways the great unwashed get around the filters makes me wonder why there are filters at all.

This game doesn't need dirt flung out for all to see, especially those of us who think that this game is for playing, not for adolescent fantasy to be played out when their parents can't see what they are doing. And those adults who participate should be ashamed. And don't tell me to "file a complaint". It doesn't work. I didn't pay my money for this crap, and I certainly don't think AN or NCS want it to continue at the expense of losing players.

I usually don't care, but yesterday when we were "waiting" for the Frog in Lion's Arch int1, the spam and racism got so over the top that I've never seen anything like it before. Me and someone else started casually discussing reporting methods and account suspension, that shut them up pretty quick.
